A: Absolutely. We are authorized by the County of Monterey to issue the California Confidential Marriage Certificate, but to quality you must both be over 18 years old and already living together.

Q: What's the difference between the Public Certificate and the Confidential Certificate?

A: The main difference is that the Confidential Certificate is not open record and requires your signature to get a copy, where the Public Certificate is open record and anyone who wishes can obtain a copy of your Certificate for whatever purpose, including marketing services to you. Q: Does the Confidential Certificate require a blood test?

A: No, it does not.

Q: Is the Confidential Certificate legal?

Q: My Certificate has an expiration date! Did our marriage expire?

A: No. The expiration date refers to the date in which your marriage must be performed by for that Certificate to be good. As long as your wediding took place before that date, you're in good shape.

Q: We have our own Marriage Certificate. Can you still perform our ceremony?

A: Yes, absolutely!

Q: What's the weather like?

A: Monterey, like many areas, can experience all kinds of weather conditions. Rain is less common in the Summer months, but can occur at any time throughout the year. Please be aware that weather conditions will vary and are not always predictable. If you are planning an outdoor wedding be prepared to go with the flow. Q: Do you provide chairs for our guests?

A: If you are being married at the Monterey Stone Chapel, we have enough chairs to accomodate 50 of your guests, however if you choose another location we do not provide any furnishings. Hodges Rent All is one of several businesses that can provide you with chairs for outdoor wedding ceremonies.

Q: Is there a place to change at the chapel?

A: Yes, there is a small room where you can change and a small bathroom.

Q: Do you provide photography or videos?

A: We do have a photographer who is available for hire if requested, or we would be happy to refer you to other photographers if you would like.

Q: Can you provide flowers for our wedding?

A: We do not provide flowers or decorations.
